Sundays at 5pm ~ Choral EvensongsChoral Evensong at the Church of the Redeemer is one of those rare gifts that asks nothing of you but your presence. It’s a service shaped by centuries of Christian prayer—ancient, monastic, Anglican—and yet it meets us here, a quiet respite amidst the tumult of this loud age. The liturgy, the psalms, the waning light, the music that seems to hover just above the silence—Evensong opens a space where we have nothing to do, nothing to achieve. And in the stillness, the Holy One speaks. This is worship that draws from deep wells. The psalms Jesus sang, the rhythms of the early church, the wisdom of the Reformers—it’s all here, carried forward by beauty and reverence. Evensong isn’t flashy or loud. It’s gentle, consistent, and deeply grounded. In a world moving too fast, time slows at Evensong, and we remember to whom we truly belong. At Redeemer, we keep this tradition not because it’s old, but because it’s good. Come, sit, and rest a while. In addition to our Sunday 10am choral service, a service of Choral Evensong is offered every Sunday at 5pm from September 7, 2025 through May 17, 2026, except for December 21st, 28th and April 5th. Dates of our Festive Choral Evensongs, Meditations and Special Services are listed on page 3 of the 2025-2026 Music Brochure. All of these services take place at 5pm unless otherwise noted. |
