REDEEMER VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

In cooperation with the mission partners of Church of the Redeemer, there are many opportunities throughout the year for parishioners to show God’s love to our local and extended community. MISSION OPPORTUNTIES TO HELP THOSE OUTSIDE THE PARISH

Centre Street Food Pantry

  • Sort donations and re-stock shelves 
  • Help shoppers make choices 
  • Unload donations from vehicles 
  • Load vehicles at the Boston Food Bank Tuesdays and Saturdays 

Ecclesia Ministries

  • Attend a Sunday worship service with the common cathedral community (Sundays at 1pm, at the Brewer Fountain) 
  • Prepare and serve lunch at Sunday service 
  • Spend time at BostonWarm during cold winter days, talking with clients and helping provide food and warm drinks 
  • Volunteer at Common Art on Wednesdays 
  • Contribute to the annual sock drive 

Epiphany School

  • Cook dinner 
  • Tutor children 
  • Volunteer in the library 

FUEL for students

  • Shop for large quantities of food (and be reimbursed); 
  • Sort and organize the food;

  • Deliver the bags each week.

St. Stephen’s Youth Programs

  • Prepare and serve lunch for annual partners meeting or counselor training 
  • Help run the Christmas Party in December
  • Volunteer in the Blackstone school library 
  • Tutor or mentor a teenager 
  • Be a reading buddy one afternoon from 2:30-6pm 
  • Plan a Friday field trip for the summer

Altar Guild 
Altar Guild members are behind-the-scenes service assistants, committed to the ministry of preparing and adorning the altars and church for our worship services which are the heart of our parish life.

Sunday School 
Volunteer to teach or assist in the classroom.
Join the Sunday School Committee.

Youth Groups 
Volunteer to help with Middle School or High School Youth Group.

Fellowship 
Organize a fellowship dinner or series of small dinner gatherings throughout the year.
Organize and/or host a Rockers hors d'hoeuvres gathering for the age 50+ group of parishioners.

Christmas Market
The Christmas Market is both a fundraiser for our Outreach Programs and a fellowship event for our parish. A project of the Church Service League, our annual Christmas Market is held the first Friday and Saturday in December. Over thirty vendors sell everything from gourmet foodstuffs to toys to women’s apparel.
