Youth Assistants: Our valuable classroom helpers!

Youth Assistants are Confirmed students in the 9th-12th grade who help in Sunday School. As Confirmed youth, they are mentors for our Sunday School children and assist the teachers in every classroom. It is an awesome and much-coveted position of service in the church.

Youth Assistants must arrive on time every Sunday. If they are going to be absent, they should notify the Director of Sunday School in advance.

In addition to being teaching assistants and role models for the children of our parish, Youth Assistants also have the opportunity to gather periodically for fellowship, planning, and formation. After Sunday School, on scheduled weekends, the Youth Assistants are invited to have breakfast together, and talk about issues that have been raised by children in Sunday School, questions from their own faith livesand to help plan events.

The most important event that the Youth Assistants have is the opportunity to help plan Youth Sunday. In 2012, Youth Sunday will be May 20th. The worship service that day will be designed and carried out by teens and children of the parish.
