Lectors
and Lay Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs)
Adult members of the parish have the privilege of
assisting with the liturgy at the 10:30 service either as Lectors or Lay
Eucharistic Ministers (LEMs). New
Lectors and LEMs are trained for their ministry by the clergy of the
parish.
LEMs serve in pairs and are vested in black cassock and white
surplice. One LEM is assigned
to lead the Prayers of the People from the lectern.
Both LEMs assist at communion by administering the chalice (the cup
of wine). LEMs must be
licensed for their ministry by the Bishop of the diocese.
Current LEMs: If you're already signed up to be a LEM, refer to the
Lector/LEM schedule to see when you're serving in church.
Interested? If you have not
yet signed up and are interested in becoming a LEM, refer to the
worship contact info or send
an email to
worship@redeemerchestnuthill.org.
