There's still time to
serve Seeking service assistants
Acolytes 5th-7th grade Servers 8th-12th grade
Being a service assistant is a great way to learn about Christian worship and meet other youth in our parish.
We don't schedule our Service Assistants every week, so you can still go to Church School or do other things.
There is a training for new Service Assistants on Saturday, September 12th at 10 am. You'll learn everything you need to know.
Interested? Please contact the office as soon as possible so that we can get you on the schedule.

B-SAFE 2009: It’s a Wrap!
After five weeks in the city serving more than 550 children and teens, the B-SAFE summer program wrapped up with a five-day overnight at the Barbara C. Harris Camp & Conference Center. As many of you know, the Redeemer supports St. Stephen’s, our partner church in the South End/Villa Victoria neighborhood, and their youth programs in many ways. This spring and summer, we helped make their diocesan-wide B-SAFE summer program possible through a Church Service League outreach grant, the gift of our Easter offering, and putting together a team of volunteers to prepare and serve three days of lunches to the 150 B-SAFE staff during their training week in June. Individual teens also volunteered for 1-2 weeks at a time in the program.
Check out the short and wonderful video clip from the Bishop’s recent visit to the B-SAFE sites at http://www.kathywittman.com/video/bsafe_shaw.html and read all about the wonderful things that happened this summer on the B-SAFE ’09 blog at www.ssypbsafe@wordpress.com. Thanks to all at the Redeemer who did so much to make B-SAFE possible!

Thank You To Those Who Have Volunteered To Be Stewardship Shepherds!
so keep your eyes on your mailbox.
Your work as a Shepherd helps the Redeemer continue to be the place where we can get answers to the most important questions in life, from infancy to advanced age, and to go out in the world and make a difference. Many blessings to our dedicated volunteers!

Call for Stewardship Tenders
We have many very busy Shepherds who work downtown, are on the road, are full time caring for kids and many other good works. Some could use a hand with some of the practical aspects of collecting pledge cards, and getting them physically into the bags. If anyone would like to volunteer to help our shepherds with some of the logistics, and get very discrete assignments to help pick up a pledge between October 10 and November 1, or for other small tasks (helping with detail of training or other social gatherings), please contact Laine in the office.
