Celebrate this Easter with a Gift of Lilies

CHECKS and NAMES DUE by Wednesday, April 8th

to Nina or the office!

Did you know that the beautiful Easter lilies which adorn the Church of the Redeemer at Easter are made possible by many financial donations from our Parishioners?

Our Easter flower donations traditionally have been made as a lovely way to remember those who are special to us, but gifts may be made “in celebration of” an event or important milestone as well as “in honor of,” “in memory of,” or “in thanksgiving for” loved ones.

The memorial notations for the Easter donations are recorded in calligraphy in The Book of Remembrance, on display in the Narthex throughout the year – a lovely reminder for all.

Names which are received by April 8th will be printed in the Easter worship service leaflets.

We suggest $50 for the first listing, $10 for each additional one, but, of course will welcome ANY AMOUNT.

We hope that you will contribute to the glorious celebration of Easter at the Redeemer with a memorial gift.  The results of your generosity will be enjoyed by all who visit us at Easter time.

Thank you.

Please fill in the form below and return it either to the Church office or by mail to Mrs. Nina Moriarty, Treasurer of the Altar Guild, 214 Heath Street, Chestnut Hill, MA  02467.

Volunteer at the St. Stephen’s After-School Program Easter Party

Thursday, April 9th from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm

Please consider volunteering in one of two ways:

·        Volunteer from home by boiling 2 dozen white eggs.  The children will be decorating these eggs.  We will need over 250 eggs again this year!  Please boil the white eggs and drop them off at the Redeemer (in their cartons) by the end of the day, Tuesday, April 7th.  Please leave them in the fridge in the kitchen.  Call or email Laura Patton (laurated@rcn.com or 617-232-5175) to let her know if you are boiling eggs. There is also put a sign-up sheet outside Dorsey’s office.

·        Volunteer at the party on Thursday, April 9th from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm.  We will need about 6-8 volunteers to help with this fun (really fun!) party for the children.  If you can only help out for part of the time we would still love your help.  This would be a good volunteer activity for families.  Volunteers will work as a team to set up the parish hall at St. Stephen’s for the party and hide eggs for the egg hunt.  We will also be serving a meal for the children. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Laura Patton (laurated@rcn.com or 617-232-5175). There is also put a sign-up sheet outside Dorsey’s office.

Bible Study with the Rector

Grace for the Road:

Midweek Bible Studies for Ordinary Life

Paul's letter to the Romans has, arguably, had more influence on the Christian Church over the last 500 years than any single book of the Bible.  In it he articulates his vision of the sovereignty of God and the necessity of grace, and does so in a way that is personally revealing and, at times, profoundly moving.  These studies are times of vibrant conversation and questioning, as we all seek a closer walk with Christ.  And the coffee is good, too!  We guarantee you will walk out re-charged for the rest of your week.

Men’s Bible Study, Wednesdays, 7:00 am

Women’s Bible Study, Thursdays, 9:15 am

Both Bible Studies meet at the Rectory, 381 Hammond Street
