Silent Prayer, Reflection, Restoration and Sharing

Bethany House of Prayer

181 Appleton St

Arlington, MA

9:00AM to 4:00PM

Most of us are painfully aware of the external demands, social obligations, family duties and ceaseless chain of events in our lives, which create a cacophony of distractions and push out the real reason for our commitments.  In the context of doing the next thing on our list, our prayers become more like a shopping list and less like a conversation between two friends.  God calls most of us to be in this world and to be in communion with him.  This retreat will provide a sacred space where you can rebalance the temporal and the eternal.  We invite you to bring yourself to the chapel and grounds of Bethany for a deeply personal encounter with God, His Beauty, His Love and the mysterious workings of His Spirit in your life.

DONATIONS FOR EASTER LILIES

It has been an Easter-time tradition at the Redeemer to give donations towards the Altar Lilies as a way of remembering those who are special to us. The Altar Guild invites all parishioners to contribute to the Church’s Easter lilies either “in memory of” or “in thanksgiving for” their loved ones. Names will be recorded in calligraphy in the church’s Book of Remembrance, which is on display during the year in the bookcase in the Narthex. Checks payable to the Church of the Redeemer Altar Guild may be sent in any amount to Mrs. Nina Moriarty, 214 Heath Street, Chestnut Hill, MA 02467. Please list names exactly as you would like them to appear in the Book of Remembrance.

If you would like the names to appear in the Easter leaflets, please call the office (617-566-7679) by April 4th.

Please Help with the St. Stephen’s Easter Party

Thursday April 5th from 2:00pm – 4:30pm

Please consider volunteering in one of two ways:

Volunteer from home by boiling 2 dozen white eggs.  The children will be decorating these eggs.  We will need over 200 eggs this year!  Please boil the white eggs and leave them in the fridge at the Redeemer (in their cartons) on Wednesday April 4th.  Please call or email Laura Patton (laurated@rcn.com or 617-823-4264) to let her know if you are boiling eggs.

Volunteer at the party on Thursday April 5th from 2:00pm – 4:30pm.  We will need  6-8 volunteers from 2:00pm until 4:30pm to help prepare for and participate in this fun (really fun!) party.  Volunteers will work as a team to set up the parish hall at St. Stephen’s for the party, preparing to dye the eggs and set up the egg hunt.  We will also be serving a meal for the children. If you are interested in helping out, please contact Laura Patton (laurated@rcn.com or 617-823-4264).

 Yard Sale

Save the Date

Please consider donating your treasures to this year’s Yard Sale, which will take place on

Saturday, June 2nd from 9:00 am – 2:00 pm and

Sunday, June 3rd following the 10:30 am service.

All funds will go towards our pledge to

the Barbara C. Harris Camp and Conference Center.

If you are interested in helping with this project, please call the office at 617-566-7679.
