Stewardship 2007

If you have not yet made your pledge to the church in support of the 2007 Annual Operating Budget, please do so at your earliest convenience.  Your pledge card can be put in the mail, you can call the church financial office, you can hand deliver your pledge, or you can pledge on-line at www.redeemerchestnuthill.org.  Your timely pledge will allow the Vestry, at its December 12th meeting, to set a realistic budget for the coming year.  Thank you in advance for your prayerful consideration.

Annual Christmas Book Collection for St. Stephen's Afterschool Program is well underway!

See the display in the parish hall for the next  three weeks to learn about the collection and select a child.  It's easy to participate:   Simply choose an envelope, read about  a child and their interests on the enclosed form, purchase a quality hard cover book for him or her (or several  paperbacks), and returned your gift-wrapped book(s) to the church office  by Friday, December 15th.  Books will be presented at the Afterschool   Program Christmas party on Thursday, December 21st, which is hosted by  Redeemer.  For more information, contact Pam Mathews at 617-527-0496 or psmathews@comcast.net .  To learn more about St. Stephen's afterschool program, check out www.ststephensbos.org.

Rebecca Gifford

Greater Boston Interfaith Organization

December 6th at 7:30 pm

On December 6th at 7:30 we will welcome Rebecca Gifford, community organizer for the Greater Boston Interfaith Organization.  Rebecca will lead us in a conversation around ways we might become a stronger community and have greater impact in the world. Rebecca has already contributed a great deal to the Redeemer by introducing us to the model of “house meetings”, which we undertook last spring and again this fall, to explore significant questions in our own lives and in our hopes for our church, and she helped train the facilitators for those gatherings.  This evening is open to the whole parish. Whether you participated in any of the house meetings and would like a chance to reflect on that experience, or you wanted to come but just couldn’t make it, or whether you are simply curious about GBIO and its work, we promise you a rewarding evening.  Rebecca will also give us a taste of how this process has been used in other congregations and some idea of the great results!  Join us for a light supper at 6:30, followed by our time with Rebecca.  Please call the parish office if you plan to come for dinner, or sign up on the sheet outside Dorsey’s office.

Please Help Those In Need

We have some families who have appealed to us for help during the Christmas season.  Below is a list of the requests we have received to date.  If you are able to help provide any of these items, please contact the office to let us know which gift you would like to choose (so that we don't have duplicates).  We would appreciate your bringing your wrapped present to the church by December 18th.  If you would prefer to contribute funds, we would be most appreciative of that as well since we will probably receive more requests before December 25th.  Many thanks in advance for your generous help and may the blessings of Christmas be with you and your family.
