“Building on our Foundation” STEWARDSHIP CAMPAIGN 2006 At the Church of the Redeemer, the end of summer and the beginning of fall is about coming together. It is about returning from our summer vacations and getting back to work. And it is about launching the annual Stewardship Campaign. The Stewardship Campaign is the process through which we raise the funds needed to operate the church. We have tried many different tactics over the years, all in an attempt to make the Stewardship process painless, quick and successful. Some years we are more successful than in others, but every year we try to strike a balance between outright pleading for money and relying upon more subtle messages to solicit support. Our theme “Stewardship 2006: Building on Our Foundation” highlights that making a pledge to the Stewardship Campaign is about making a pledge to the future of our Church. A pledge is not a charitable contribution – rather, it is a sign of your commitment and an offering of thanksgiving. We have all been blessed with so many gifts, and the Stewardship Campaign is a chance to make a gift that reflects our thanksgiving. Every pledge is very important and we need your help. This year the Stewardship process is going to be somewhat different than it has been in the recent past. The parish is going to be divided into 37 neighborhood groups. Each group will have a neighborhood captain and between October 23rd and November 6th, each person will receive information from one of their neighbors, be asked to make a pledge and within 24 hours, pass the information on to another of their neighbors. When all neighbors have been contacted, the information will be returned to the captain and presented in church on November 6th as an offering from the parish. Please help us in this important work. We ask you to give prayerful consideration to what you can do to help the Church of the Redeemer meet its upcoming needs. Please help us make Stewardship successful. Make a pledge to support the Redeemer. |
