Ten years as Chair of Outreach, Chair of Building Committee, Vestry member, Tree seller at Christmas Market 

Michael F. Aylward married into the Redeemer in 1990 when he wed Deborah Ritter, whose family had been lifelong members of the parish. He was initially drawn into the Redeemer’s Outreach ministry and spent more than a decade as the chair of the Outreach Committee. During this time, he also spent a term on the Vestry and performed the vital role of selling and delivering Christmas trees at the Redeemer’s annual Christmas Market. More recently, he has been called back to serve as Chair of the Building Committee. 

Michael is a lawyer by trade and a chef and gardener by avocation. He was born in Hong Kong to Foreign Service parents and spent most of his life in Washington, D.C. Following graduation from Dartmouth, he worked on Capitol Hill for a U.S. Senator and acquired a life-long interest in politics and environmental affairs. For the past three decades, he has advised insurance companies on liability risk issues and has represented carriers around the country in litigation over their contractual obligations.

In his rare spare time, Michael enjoys  fishing, gardening and Chinese cooking.
