Advent Series 2005

 The first two Wednesday evenings of Advent, November 30^th and December 7^th, 2005, we are honored to welcome two dynamic guests who will conduct a mini-series entitled “Christ in the Streets: Prepare the Way of the Lord.”  The Reverend Hurman Hamilton is Senior Pastor of Roxbury Presbyterian Church, and a key leader in the Black Ministerial Alliance of Boston.  His congregation has undergone remarkable growth and renewal over the last ten years, and daily brings hope and new life to a neighborhood where the ordinary conditions of existence are full of struggle.   The Reverend Tim Crellin is Vicar of St. Stephen’s Church in the South End, our partner parish.  Tim is a former assistant at the Redeemer, and over the last eight years has presided over the revitalization of St. Stephen’s congregation and the development of model after-school and summer youth programs that have saved many young lives.  They will speak of their visions for the Church in the city, and tell how and where they have seen the face of Christ in those among whom they work and live.

Each evening begins with a brief Eucharist at 6:00 p.m. followed by dinner at 6:30 and a presentation at 7:00.
