Christmas Market 2008

Want to get involved?

Join in the spirit of camaraderie!  We need volunteers to help out with all aspects of this year’s Christmas Market and Auction, whether you're new to the church or have been coming for years, volunteering at the market is a great meet or re-connect with fellow parishioners.  We have different roles that can fit different schedules -- from an occasional free hour to a more substantial involvement.  Look for the calls for volunteers in the Redeemer News or call the Church Office (617 566 7679) to join in anytime.  Planning starts in January, so it's never too early, and it's never too late -- there's always lots to do on the big days (Friday December 5th, and Saturday December 6th), from staffing the admissions table to selling Christmas trees. Committees include:

Food
Like one of Santa's many elves, help serve lunch or dinner at the Market.  No funny shoes or hats required.

Greens
Calling all Martha Stewarts.  Craft one-of-a-kind wreaths, pot some paperwhites, use your creative side to make decorative Christmas greens -- one of the Market's biggest draws.

Consignors
Have some ideas of what you would like to buy at the market?  If you have an eye for unusual gift items and knack for finding them, consider joining the Consignors Committee as they seek out specialty vendors of everything from gourmet foods to stationary to jewelry.

Auction
Learn more about the hidden talents of your fellow parishioners as you help solicit auction donations, use your wit and verbal skills to help write the booklet, and apply your presentation skills to makes displays and slides for the items.

Decorations
Deck the halls with garlands, lights, centerpieces and more -- Set the tone for the big event, while exercising your creative flair and ladder climbing skills.

Crafts
More Martha Stewarts?  Lend you talents with a paint brush or use your glue gun skills to join in group workshops for making decoupage, decorative topiaries, and more.

Baked Goods
For those with culinary talents, we need special home-baked or store bought items to stock our Bake Sale Table.
