MARKET INFORMATION:
CUSTOMERS:
The Market is a
well-established tradition in our area; this year will be the 58th
year. The Market draws over 1000 visitors each year, and has many loyal
fans from VENDORS: Each year we have 35-45 vendors in two adjacent spaces; in 2007, vendors included, Sara Campbell LTD., The Andover Shop, and Galatea Fine Jewelry. We strive for a well-represented and diverse show with little to no overlap in merchandise. Vendors are often growing businesses that sell a wide range of items – traditional menswear, handmade handbags, children’s items, jewelry, specialty gourmet foods, housewares, and stationary. Because our Market has a long history, many vendors hear about us from one another and seek us out.
For 2008, The Christmas Market schedule for vendors is as follows:
5:00PM-6:00PM Closed for Consignor dinner
6:00PM-7:00PM
Cocktails and Vendor shopping (followed by fundraising dinner and auction for church members)
COST: Vendors pay a space and/ or table fee (from $100 to $175, depending on space), when they agree to come by signing a contract. Vendors agree to pay the church 15% of gross sales at the show, at the end of the event. THE ORGANIZATION: The Christmas Market and associated dinner and auction are the main annual fundraisers for the Outreach Group of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer. The Outreach committee supports secular after-school program at St. Stephen’s church in the South End, organizes food and clothing drive for homeless shelters, and coordinates service projects in underserved neighborhoods. Outreach makes grants to non-profit organizations such as: Bridge over Troubled Waters, Horizons, Initiative, Epiphany Middle School, Newton Food Pantry, Brookline Food Pantry, On the Rise, and Ecclesia Ministries.
